Why do day nurseries offer so much value to parents and opportunity to their children?

Better social skills

Surrounded by other children and adult leaders, day nursery pupils learn to engage very well with others. You’ll see your child develop the important skills that they’ll need through their education and beyond like listening to others, making friends, sharing, self-expressions, cooperation, and accountability.

Better performance in later school years

Educational surveys have demonstrated and proven on repeated occasions that children who go to and participate in day nursery activities require less additional or special instruction in primary schools and beyond. Day nurseries really do help prepare your child socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Noticeably improved attention spans

Switch on a passion for learning early on in life and your child retains that joy of discovery in later educational and vocational life. Children love new experiences, different environments, and the opportunity to interact with other children. When that’s balanced with developing the ability to listen, to be a team player, to follow instructions, and to work independently, progress is rapid.

More engagement in and enthusiasm for learning

When a child feels that he or she can take something from learning, they perform better. They manage the challenges they face and they perform better in examinations and coursework. Settling into primary school is a lot easier for children who have benefited from day nursery attendance. They also tend to be interested in a much wider variety of tasks like cooking, singing, music, dancing, construction, and more.

Better health

We all know that children are more prone to illness than adults but every illness they’re exposed to makes their immune system stronger. Toddlers who stay at home rather than attend day nursery tend to be more prone to illness. The more time they have off, the worse it is for their education.

Learning through play

Children love to play. Children have a right to play. At Melrose Nursery School centres in Acton and Sudbury, children learn through play spending time outdoors, in group activities, and in messy play. All underpinned by a structured timetable, the variety of activities that we offer to our day nursery children is broad. That means you can be assured that there will be plenty in our curriculum that your child will grasp on to and make their own.
